Teen Breaks Down Door, Pushes Woman, Knocks Away Phone, Milford Police Say

A teenager was taken into custody after allegedly breaking into a home, pushing a woman and preventing her from contacting law enforcement, police said.

Officers from the Milford Police Department responded to a Summit Avenue home at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, where there was a report of a potential domestic violence incident.

According to police, the investigation into the domestic incident determined that Milford resident Elias Garcia, 18, allegedly broke a door to the home in an attempt to get in, repeatedly pushed a woman and knocked a cellphone out of her hand when she attempted to make an emergency 911 call.

Garcia was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal mischief and interfering with an emergency call. He is scheduled to appear in Milford Justice Court on Wednesday, April 3 to be processed for the charges.
